ANOREXIC in Control poem

In Control Poem

Almost empty
A fallen Soul
A living Stick-man
It’s in control
Eating away
Such a slow decay
Hollow cheeks
Empty eyes
A deathly figure on the sunrise
Words of pain
Nothing to lose
Nothing to gain
Inked paper
Blank eyes
You're not fat you say,

No reply.

  2. Pia, Thinking about how this links so well with the Sharp short story about the power of Anorexia and the difficulties that are faced by people with this disorder.
Your ending is very powerful and the extra space adds emphasis to the lack of hope that this poem evokes.

The "Living Stick man" line is one that could be reworked to better illustrate the effects of the anorexia.

The bleak font and colour works well.

I look forward to reading more of your work.
